Chiang Mai Photo Workshops

From Dusk Until After Dark

Night photography is fun! Challenging, sure, but fabulous fun because you can capture photographs at night your eyes will never see naturally. Ghosted images, long streaks of light from vehicles, wonderfully vivid colors and lots more.

e meet just before dusk at Chiang Mai’s historic Iron Bridge where Kevin and Pu will begin by teaching how to set up your camera to capture the best photos of this beautifully lit bridge against the rich blue evening sky. In Chiang Mai there’s a 7-10 minute window of optimum time each evening where the ambient light and the electric lights on the bridge balance and offer opportunity to create some stunning photographs. You will learn how to understand this balance and why it’s important, so you can use this technique any evening, wherever you are.

Our next location is Wararot market where there’s a good location to get above the traffic and make some images of light trails. Here you’ll learn what you can do with a long exposure.

From the market we head off to the old city and spend time at one or two of the temples and chedis which are well lit and provide more good opportunities to explore low light photography.

This workshop will open your eyes and understanding of a whole new way of seeing at night and teach you how to produce stunning images we cannot naturally see.

This workshop is more suitable for people who have a reasonably good knowledge of their camera. If you are looking for a short workshop to learn more about using your camera on manual mode and various aspects of photography we recommend our Markets Workshop.
